As many times as we have been to the beach, we have never actually gone out on the Flagler Beach Pier. After lunch, coffee and shopping we decided to walk over and finally check it out.
We stopped by the Pier office, paid (it is $3) and picked up the Visitor's Guide before we headed down.
The pier is lined with messages of love, rememberance and congratulations from many different people. The messages are carved/burned into the wood planks all the way down, starting at the entrance gate.
If we ever move away from Flagler, I told Hubs we would have to purchase a plank to leave our lasting message on the pier.:)
Like, I said in my post yesterday, the temperature was perfect for spending a day outside.
It was a little overcast which made for some pretty pictures.
This was taken looking south, down the beach towards Ormond Beach and Daytona.
This is looking north, towards St. Augustine.
On the north side of the pier, there was also a group of surfers, who we enjoyed watching for a fairly long time. I think I asked Hubs a million questions in regards to what they were doing and why.
Surfing is not my thing.
I told Jason this guy looked like Jimmy Buffett.
I wished we had signs with numbers, so that we could score their "rides".
Maybe next time. :)
After an hour or so out on the pier we made our way back to the entrance. We will definitely spend more time out there! It's a must have spot to visit if you are in the area.
We have plans to try The Pier Resturant one day soon. I will make sure to post a review.
Oh and speaking of Jimmy Buffett, I am so excited to share we will be seeing him live in Jacksonville in a few short weeks!
FINS TO THE LEFT, FRIENDS!!!!
