The Story of Eli

Since he makes a regular appearence on the blog, I decided to officially share "The Story of Eli".

Sometime in 2007 we were introduced to Sheamus, Jason's Dad and Step-Mom's shi-tzu puppy. He was the cutest little thing and after spending a few days with him, I was sure we needed one just like him.

So, fast forward a few month's (early 2008) and there we were, in some small town in South Georgia, picking out our very own little shi-tzu puppy.

We named him, Eli, after Eli Whitney (the creator of the Cotton Gin), because the breeder's home was in the middle of no where, surrounded by cotton fields.

We both agreed we didnt want a "white" one, so we picked out the only dark brown shi-tzu at the place.

But, of course, after his first grooming appointment, he returned home....white.

After 3 weeks of sleepless nights, lots of "accidents" in the house and eating many, many, many socks, we finally got him (somewhat!) trained and he has quickly settled into a nice little routine.

And while he is a complete mess most of the time...

somehow manages to never stay clean...

has survived a few ($costly$) injuries...

and is spoiled rotton...

he really is the best little puppy and we wouldn't trade him for anything in the world!

The end.

Of course when we visit Sheamus, we like to make fun of Eli for being so little :) You see, Sheamus, that little puppy we met in 2007, has grown to be a 24lb. Eli weighs in at a scrawny 12lbs :)
(I guess technically that would be Eli and his Uncle Sheamus)
